Holding advanced level certification as an Imago Relationship Therapist, Dr. Fibus uses the program’s unique tools as part of his integrated approach to relationship coaching and counseling.

IMAGO Relationship Therapy can be especially helpful if you:

  • are beginning a relationship you want to keep
  • want to enrich a good relationship
  • are in a difficult relationship and want to resolve long-standing conflicts
  • are near break-up or divorce and want to decide if the relationship can be saved.

Imago Relationship Therapy (IRT) offers a unique perspective on relationships along with a practical set of tools for couples looking for healthier partnerships. Based on the Latin word for image, IRT suggests, that each of us is deeply imprinted, from birth, with a personal image of love, as it was expressed—both positive and negative—by our primary caretakers. This blueprint unconsciously guides our actions and attractions in all of our future relationships—regardless of what we think or say we want.

Founded by Harville Hendrix, Ph.D., and Helen Hunt, M.A., Imago Relationship Therapy addresses the needs of individuals within partnerships and within the world. It views marriage as the primary therapeutic relationship whose purpose is mutual emotional healing, self-completion, and spiritual growth.

By offering a practical guide to better relationships and exploring deeply entrenched behavioral patterns and current adaptations, we are able to break through dead-end behavior, manifest creativity and move into a thriving, conscious relationship.
