Memory Function

Improving Memory with Neurofeedback
The more scientists learn about brain function, the more they see that memory is everywhere. We may store certain kinds of memory in specific places in the brain most of the time, but if those places are injured, other parts of the brain are often able to take over the memory function.
We rely on memory to do the simplest things: to get from the house to the mailbox and back, to call someone by name, to get dressed. We also depend on memory to help us with the formulas and sequences that allow us to work with numbers, use logic, follow a recipe and keep track of the plot of a movie or book.
As we’ve said before, neurofeedback is like taking your brain to the gym. One of the benefits of brain training is that it makes the brain healthier and strengthens memory.
When memory improves, the improvements spill over into all kinds of mental activities, allowing us to function more easily in the world.
